DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY & ALLIED SCIENCE​

The Department of Surgery is fully recognized by CPSP for postgraduate training. A large range of sub-specialties form part of this department. These include Orthopedic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Neuro surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. Students get clinical training in surgery in their 3rd, 4th and final year by experienced and skilled consultants and during this time they are also rotated in various sub-specialties. It is one of the busiest department of CMH. It has well organized Accident and Trauma Services because of which it remains at the forefront of extending specialized care to the vast variety of injured cases received as victims of terrorist incidents, accidents and other disasters.

UROLOGY

The department is fully equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. All sorts of endourological, laparoscopic, reconstructive, paediatrics and uro-oncological procedures are being carried out.

PLASTIC SURGERY

Department of Plastic Surgery is a recent addition to the surgical department. All types of reconstructive procedures including free flaps are being done regularly. Cosmetic surgery including rhinoplasty, otoplasty, scar revisions, etc are also carried out.

PEDIATRIC SURGERY

Facilities are available to deal with all sorts of congenital abnormalities, paediatric trauma, and paediatric neoplasms. CMH has a newly constructed paediatric ICU equipped with the latest ventilators and monitoring devices for the seriously ill children.

NEUROSURGERY

Neurosurgical Department is a busy area that manages large number of cases related to road traffic accidents, bomb blast injuries and neurological / spinal diseases. All kinds of emergency and elective neurosurgical procedures are being done.

VASCULAR SURGERY

Both elective and emergency vascular procedures are performed routinely such as peripheral vascular bypass, aneurysmorrhaphies, carotid surgery, portosystemic shunts, AV malformation surgery,AVaccess procedures and vascular trauma management.
