Additionally, Doctor patient ratio internationally is 1:500 while in Pakistan it is 1:1300 and in Balohcistan it is 1:1600. QIMS was launched by then COAS Gen Ashfaque Pervaiz Kiani in Aug 2011 and recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Counsel in Jan 2011. Initially QIMS was Affiliated with University of Balohcistan and later with National University of Medical Sciences in Sep 2016. Establishment of QIMS Contributed in integration of Balochi youth into national stream. It not only facilitated civil-military harmony but also provides competent and qualify doctors for Balochistan and opportunity for graduates to join Pakistan Army. Establishment of QIMS has marked the beginning of a new era of advanced medical education in the province. The institute was envisaged as project to enhance medical training facilities in the region at undergraduate level.
