A two days workshop on Biomedical Ethics was arranged by the department of Community Medicine with the prior approval of competent authorities. The workshop was conducted by a highly professional team of Centre of Biomedical Ethics Culture (CBEC) which an integral part of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplant (SIUT). The three facilitators from CBEC who ran all the activities during these two days:
- Dr. Farhat Moazam.
Pediatric Surgeon.MD, PhD in Biomedical Ethics.
- Dr. Bushra Sherazi.
General Surgeon, Masters in Biomedical Ethics.
- Dr. Aamir Jafarey.
General Surgeon, Masters in Biomedical Ethics.
The workshop was attended by the faculty members of QIMS, CMH, College of Nursing and consultants of Cardiac Centre.
The workshop started at 9.00 AM and concluded at 3.30 PM on both days. During these two days all aspects of medical and research ethics were discussed in detail.
The participants actively participated in all the session s of the workshop with keen interest and generated a healthy discussion on different aspects of ethics in medical sciences thus rectifying their misconceptions and getting explanation of their queries. All the participants highly appreciated the contents of the workshop. The facilitators also appreciated the active participation of the participants. At the end almost all participants strongly suggested to have more workshops on this topic in future. The workshop ended with distribution of certificates of participation among the participants by the Principal, Commandant, QIMS and the senior facilitator Prof. Farhat Moazam. The Principal thanked the facilitators and the workshop ended.
