Students & parents are required to read the detailed information carefully before filling the admission processing forms. For clarification of any query with regard to admission, PM&DC / NUMS Regulations 2023 can be consulted.
All the rules & regulations framed by PMC / PM&DC / HEC / NUMS / QIMS highlighted / not highlighted in the prospectus / QIMS website / seat allocation / merit formulation criteria etc, are applicable as amended from time to time pertaining to admission / academics / evaluation / discipline / migration / seat withdrawal / fee structure etc..

Induction of new batch (all categories) will commence in Oct / Nov 2023 and the Academic session of new batch (13th Batch) at QIMS will commence as per NUMS instructions.
1. Entry Test (All categories):
a. Entry test for each MBBS admission session shall be conducted as per PM&DC and NUMS Regulations announced for the particular session.
b. PM&DC Regulations Para 4 (2): National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) shall be Admitting University responsible for admissions in all Armed Forces-Administered medical / dental colleges. NUMS admission test shall be considered at par with National MDCAT to be applicable only for admission in all Armed Forces Administered medical / dental colleges.
c. Candidates of all categories shall apply to NUMS for appearing in MDCAT (NUMS).
2. Admission Criteria:
PM&DC Regulations Para 3 (1): Any person seeking admission in any undergraduate medical or dental college in Pakistan shall be eligible having fulfilled the following mandatory criteria.
a. Have passed MDCAT examination.
b. Obtained a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (HSSC) or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and having obtained a minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
c. Passed the subjects of biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics in the examination of Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification (HSSC) 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.
3. QIMS Admission Process & Regulations:
a. NUMS Online Registration:
As per NUMS (admitting university) admission regulations, all the candidates desirous for admission in QIMS for MBBS course shall apply online for registration to NUMS along with all the required documents within the due date and time announced by NUMS.
b. QIMS Online Registration:
(1) It is mandatory for all applicants to register online to QIMS in order to mark their seat category. Link of online form will be available on QIMS official website (www.qims.edu.pk).
(2) Once an online form is submitted by applicant, it cannot be edited.
c. QIMS Admission Processing Form:
1. After online submission of QIMS registration form, applicant will download QIMS Admission Processing Form from QIMS official website (www.qims.edu.pk). Completely filled form & required documents will be submitted to QIMS Admission Cell within the due date given by NUMS / QIMS for online registration.
2. Admission processing fee (non refundable) will be charged as prescribed by NUMS / PM&DC regulations.
3. Incomplete form will not be accepted.
4. General Rules / Regulations (Applicable on all categories).
1. All admissions shall be conducted strictly on merit as per PM&DC / NUMS / QIMS regulations.
2. For timely submission of admission application, candidate can upload original scanned SSC and HSSC result card issued by concerned board without attestation. However, IBCC attested SSC and HSSC Certificate or Result card is required while getting admission as per IBCC Notification.
3. IBCC attestation is only required for SSC and HSSC Certificates or Result Cards issued by Boards of intermediate & Secondary Education (BISEs). O Level and A Level Equivalence certificate are issued by IBCC do not require attestation.
4. Matric/SSC and FSc/HSSC Certificate issued by BISE must be IBCC attested as per IBCC notification No. F.7-1/IBCC/BISE/2023/210.
5. Seat category cannot be changed after fee deposition, except for Bln subsidized cat e.g. If an eligible & top reserve candidate of subsidized cat (recommended in all int reports) accepts admission on BOM cat and deposits fee, later seat in Bln subsidized cat becomes vacant, the candidate’s cat will be changed from BOM to subsidized cat being on merit in subsidized cat.
6. Each candidate from the said categories shall be sent 3 emails / sms. Candidates not responding to emails / sms and calls cannot claim for the seat.
7. Any student not accepting offer / not responding to emails / sms, not depositing fee within the given due date / time will be dropped and the student next in merit list will be offered admission.
8. Any applicant whose degree / CNIC / local / domicile / income certificate / pay slip / pension slip etc is fake / not verified by the granting institution or credentials are found to be false / forged shall have the admission terminated with immediate effect. A student who is found to have forged their SSC / HSSC or equivalent examination certificate / degree or presented a false document shall be barred from applying to QIMS.
9. Interviews shall be conducted only for Bln subsidized category.
10. PM&DC Admission Regulations 2023, para – 5(14): A student when accepting admission to a college shall be under an obligation to disclose to the college if a prior admission has been accepted by them to any other college, and such student shall prior to accepting such later admission must in writing inform the prior college of cancellation of their acceptance with a copy to the designated email of the Authority. Failure by a student to cancel the prior acceptance of admission shall render all admission offers of student as void and the student shall be ineligible for admission.
5. Registration of Admitted Student:
1. NUMS Student Registration:
a. The affiliating university (NUMS) after having verified the credentials (student’s matriculation, HSSC or equivalent 12th grade qualification) shall register the student in its record.
b. NUMS shall cancel any provisional admission where the credentials of a student are not verified.
2. PM&DC Student Registration:
(1) PM&DC Admission Regulations 2023 – para 5(7):
(a) A student admitted to a medical or dental college and whose admission is verified by the affiliating university shall be registered by the Authority as a medical or dental Student.
(b) The CNIC of the student shall represent the students registration number and shall continue as the unique identification of the student throughout the period of the educational program and thereafter, for purposes of applying for licensing.
6. MBBS Seat Withdrawal:
1. Student desirous of withdrawing seat (all categories) from QIMS (after submission of Admission Fee) has to submit an application along with 100/- Affidavit (Undertaking), admission letter of selection in other medical / dental college, CNIC and copy of paid fee voucher.
2. Student and parent(s) have to appear in front of Director Admission Cell / Comdt / VP or Principal QIMS to mark thumb impression on above mentioned Affidavit and photographs will be captured during the whole process of seat withdrawal as per QIMS SoP.
3. Student has to submit College / Hostel clearance form after completion of withdrawal process to get the refund (if applicable as per Accounts dept / NUMS / PM&DC / QIMS regulations) and Original Academic Documents from Admission Cell (submitted at the time of admission).
4. No application / affidavit of seat withdrawal is acceptable via post, email, whatsApp or any other means. (Bln domiciled / local candidates).
5. Candidates of ROC and Foreign categories (if not joined classes) want to withdraw seat from QIMS, they can submit original undertaking via post. Refund will be processed after receipt of original undertaking duly signed and thumb impression marked by candidate and parent(s).
6. At the time of seat withdrawal, candidates of all categories will send email to QIMS admission cell from the same email address they have given to NUMS at the time of online registration. Upon receiving the email, seat will be offered to next candidate on merit. However, refund shall be processed after receipt of college / hostel clearance form (if joined classes) and original undertaking.
7. Date of signing affidavit in front of QIMS higher authorities will be considered as date of seat withdrawal and refund (if applicable) will be calculated with regard to this date.
